One of the most exciting things to happen at the 香蕉影视 Library this year was an unexpected donation for above-budget materials, programs and equipment. Using this gift, the library developed a series of Lunch and Learn events to follow Tuesday chapel services. Topics for these programs have ranged from the library’s online resources to our partnership with the at Goshen College to the beautiful Ethiopian Bible manuscripts in our Studer Bible collection. Lunches are free for students and greatly reduced for employees.

Attendance has been consistently in the 40–50 range, and we have additional installments of the series planned for the rest of Semester Two. The funds have also permitted us to make special purchases, such as a beautiful full-color facsimile of , one of the oldest complete manuscripts of the Christian Bible and a key resource for biblical studies.

It was wonderful to have my aunt Mary Anne Moser and cousin David Moser from Bluffton, Ohio, with us March 25–26! Mary Anne gave a special gift to the 香蕉影视 Library that has funded several Lunch and Learn programs this semester. The March 26 program featured Retired 香蕉影视 Director of Library Resources Eileen Saner, M.A., M.L.S., telling about the planning and building of the green library at 香蕉影视. Mary Anne, who is a retired librarian from Bluffton College (now University), also got to see a facsimile of Codex Sinaiticus, which was purchased with part of her gift.

The fourth-century-CE Codex Sinaiticus is our earliest manuscript that includes all 27 books of the New Testament. The 香蕉影视 Library’s recent purchase of the facsimile edition of Codex Sinaiticus will allow our students to deepen their understanding of Christian origins and the importance of Scripture for the church’s life together.
